STORY
Len is a 14-year-old student, just starting freshman year at a new high school with his sister, Rin. Perhaps due to a fear of this new step in his life, or maybe just a boredom with the simple normality this change came with, he found himself becoming withdrawn and moody, usually locking himself in his room and refusing to talk to anyone.
That all changed with his mischievous twin slipped her DS and a copy of a Mario game under his door.
Since then, Len has become immersed in gaming and Internet surfing, buying all the consoles, using all the forums, and simply ignoring the real world. He and Rin jump, run, and fight through school (at least on their PSPs). They only talk to each other (I mean, who else matters?), unless they find a target in the school susceptible to their gaming rants. Then, they ask the unwitting student to SIT DOWN PLEASE!, and attempt to entice him to become ONE OF US~.
EDIT: Though Len does not yet know it at the moment, he is actually game data, a module known as Receiver from the upcoming Project DIVA f. He and Rin/Transmitter were getting ready for the release date, but, due to excitement, tried to reveal themselves to the world too early and got swept away to the real world. The trip so greatly muddled their data that they lost all memories of being Receiver and Transmitter and grew up for a few years as a normal Len and Rin, albeit with the video game obsession. At the moment, Gakuran (
oldschoolmp3) is trying to recover Len's memories, but is failing for now. Perhaps playing the game will refresh his memory?PERSONALITY
-He tends to ignore people, looking bored and uninterested until spoken to, upon which he will become mischievous, laid-back, and cheerful, usually batting away serious questions with a smirk and joke.
-He and Rin are quite close. She was the one who convinced him to pick up gaming, and later, choir. He usually goes along with most of Rin's plans, and though he likes to come up with his own ideas, he will still put Rin and her opinions first. EDIT: This may have something to do with Rin/Transmitter's ability to control Len/Receiver with a remote; though he can do the same thing to her, he prefers not to unless she provokes him.
-He has taken up choir, as mentioned above, due to prodding from Rin. At first he was uninterested, but he soon realized it was like one of his video games, where the best singer gets the high score.
-He is very excited by any remote reference to gaming, and will go on a rant regarding his favorite games if anyone shows the slightest interest in what he has to say.
-Even more exciting to him is strange, unnatural things; things you would not see in the 'real world'. Robots, clones, monsters and otherwise will get his utmost attention (even if he really should stay out of it).
-He may be human, but he certainly doesn't feel it. He certainly fears his human existence, and is terrified by the thought that this is all there is to life. He will dismiss anything he finds boring, and then run on to the next thing, desperate to find some excitement and point to his life.
OTHER
Once Len recovers his memories, his personality will likely undergo some serious changes for just a while. He will have to deal with the whole 'be careful what you wish for' thing of suddenly realizing he's not human, just like he wanted, but now his memories are basically meaningless, he can randomly lose control of his body to users, and he isn't sure if his life really is a life. Plus, you know, he may feel weird about some of his recent relationships in the dressing room
